Exhibition Stand Location - PART 1

How to decide the best exhibition stand location when exhibiting at trade shows to ensure the best sales and promotional leads. Read Part 1 of our 5 Part guide to organising a successful exhibition stand at trade fairs and events.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. As the famous expressions goes -  It is vital to ensure that you choose the best location for your exhibition stand at your next trade fair event. Your exhibition success is directly linked to foot fall around your stand and attracting these prospective clients onto your stand or booth. Your exhibition booth is similar to a retail shop - in that it is always good to be located on the high street where your customers are more likely to be, rather than a back street. With an exhibition trade fair - this is exacerbated by the relatively short time the event will be held for. Therefore to ensure an exhibition success - book your stand space early with the trade show event organiser - as the best locations will sell early. Always consider the following locations when looking to book your stand:

  • Consider MAIN ENTRANCE LOCATIONS to the exhibition event. This is where customers will be entering the show. They will be fresh and will have the most time available to promote your products and services to.
  • Consider exhibition at STAND LOCATIONS NEXT TO MARKET LEADING BRANDS who are  in your sector - as these areas of the show will more likely be very popular and generate a lot of prospective customers and key decision makers.
  • Consider EXHIBITION LOCATIONS NEXT TO THE EXHIBITION VENUES HOSPITALITY AREAS and convenience areas. These can also be busy locations. It also allows you to take clients over to these areas, with ease - if your own hospitality services are being used.
  • Consider trade STAND LOCATIONS IN THE VICINITY OF SPECIAL SHOW DEMONSTRATION AREAS set up by the organisers of the event. These will also generate interest whether it be lectures by leading industry spokes persons or live shows and events - the key is people and lots of them - to attract and sell to.
  • Ensure you have enough exhibition stand space to effectively display your products and services.
  • The more open sides to your stand space that you have - the better. That is because there will effectively be more 'shop windows' to your stand, as it were - and potential customer access points onto your trade stand. Remember - that the more walls you put up - the bigger the barrier you are creating for your customers to approach you. Your exhibition designer will advise the best way forward in getting the most from your stand space.
